WinkelWeb starts as pilot in Zwevegem (BE)

Facebook, e-business, twitter, google analytics, ... Internet has no boundaries. Consumers make good use of all these online opportunities to study and compare products or services, ventilate their opinion about their purchases,  share good and bad experiences, and so on. Traders who were previously still hesitant and chose to wait by the sidelines, can now no longer hide from the facts: internet has become essential for doing business. But for entrepreneurs, it is not always obvious to individually find out which forms of online presence are relevant to their business, what impact they have, and exactly how to start. The project "The Winkelweb West Flanders' (WWW), approved under the Flemish call "Enterprise Friendly Municipality 2011 ', wants to help traders with these crucial choices.

Winkelweb West Flanders started late 2011. Until the summer of 2012 al lot of work was done behind the scenes to prepare a campaign, a guidance package and above all a user-friendly online tool to be used by merchants. At the end of September, these cases will be launched in the municipality of Zwevegem. (Zwevegem candidated to be a pilot municipality in the context of the local trade policy).

More information on the WWW project can be found at winkelweb.be [Dutch]
